FAQ

Is everything really union-printed?

Yes. Every product we print is produced in a union shop as our standard — not a premium tier or an upcharge. Union printing is core to who we are, and it applies to every order across the catalog.

Who do you work with?

Campaigns, party committees, and independent-expenditure groups are our core — but we work with anyone who needs reliable, quality union printing, including advocacy groups, nonprofits, labor unions, and other organizations. You don't have to be a campaign to order.

What can you print?

Direct mail postcards, walk cards, door hangers, flat lit, flyers, yard signs, vinyl banners, business cards, stickers, envelopes, and brochures — everything a campaign's print and mail program needs. Don't see the exact product you need? See Custom Quotes or get in touch. Our shops can print virtually anything, and we'll quote it.

Do you handle the mailing, or just the printing?

Both. We do print fulfillment and full direct mail programs — data handling, postage, and drop scheduling — plus direct mail consulting when you want strategic help on a program.

How does postage work? Do you mark it up?

We don't mark up postage — you're billed as quoted. Postage and mail prep are invoiced separately once your list is counted, because the real rate depends on the final record count and how the list sorts, not just on quantity. That invoice is separate from checkout, and you can pay it by ACH, check, or card. The total differs by payment method: card payments include a processing charge, shown as a dollar amount on the invoice before you pay it, and ACH and check payments don't. Postage has to be confirmed and received before your mailing drops.

How does my mail enter the postal system?

We ship your printed pieces from our production facility directly to a major USPS Business Mail Entry Unit (BMEU) — typically the closest BMEU that serves your target area — rather than dropping at a local post office. Entering mail at a BMEU means:

  • Faster in-home delivery — pieces enter the USPS network at the highest volume point
  • Better presort acceptance — BMEUs handle high-volume political mail routinely
  • More predictable drop timing — we coordinate drop dates directly with the entry point

If your program targets multiple regions or requires a specific drop location, tell us and we'll route accordingly.

What happens to mail that doesn't get delivered?

Standard-class political mail isn't forwarded or returned — that's how the class works, and it's part of why it costs what it does. Undeliverable pieces are discarded by the Postal Service, and postage on them isn't refunded. Clean data is the real defense: every list runs through CASS certification and NCOA updates before the drop, which catches most of it. If you need returns handled differently, tell us before we quote — it changes the mail class and the price.

What if my mail arrives late?

We commit to your drop date — the day your mail is accepted by the Postal Service. We don't commit to the day it lands, because once mail is in their hands, delivery timing is theirs. In-home windows we give you are estimates from typical performance, not guarantees, and postage isn't refundable if delivery runs long. This is why we push you to build schedule cushion on anything time-sensitive: if a piece has to land before a specific date, tell us at quote and we'll work backward from it, and we'll tell you if the timeline is too tight to be safe.

How do I send you my artwork?

Upload your print-ready PDF right on the product page when you order — that's the fastest route. You can also share a Canva link set to "Anyone with the link can view," or email your files if your art isn't ready when you order — your order confirmation has the address, and we ask for your order number in the subject line. Nothing gets proofed and nothing goes to press until your art is in, so the sooner it arrives, the sooner your drop date locks.

What file specs do you require?

Send print-ready PDFs in CMYK color (most products print CMYK unless otherwise noted) with a 0.125″ bleed on all sides, and keep important text and logos a safe margin inside the trim line. We confirm exact per-product specs — size, resolution, and any color exceptions — on the product page and again when we send your proof.

Full specs, setup instructions for Canva, Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, a plain-English print glossary, and a free pre-order file review are all in the Artwork Guide.

Can you design it for me?

Yes. Get in touch and tell us what you need — we'll scope it and quote it before any work starts. Design is handled separately from the store, so don't place an order first; we'll get the design settled, then set up your print order. If you already have print-ready art, order directly and send it over. See Design Help for more. (A self-serve Campaign Direct Design Studio is on the roadmap.)

What's your turnaround?

Standard production is 3–5 business days after proof approval. Rush production is 1–2 business days after proof approval — flag it when you order and we'll quote the rush fee (added as a separate line at your cart, priced by order size).

Proof turnaround: when we have your usable artwork by 11am Pacific, we turn your proof around same business day; next business day after that.

About the delivery dates you'll see at checkout: we build a production buffer into every quote — the arrival dates shown are safe estimates, not tight commitments. Rush orders typically arrive earlier than the checkout date shows, because we prioritize them to press faster and shave days off the front end.

How many rounds of changes do I get?

Proofs are for verifying what we've set — names, dates, addresses, disclaimers. Small corrections turn around fast and we don't count them. If we or our printer made the error, fixing it never costs you anything. Extensive changes — new copy, a different layout, a redesign — may incur a design charge and can affect your timeline. We'll tell you before we do the work, not after.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Before you approve your proof, reply to your order confirmation or get in touch and we'll do what we can. Work already completed — design or setup — may not be refundable, and if we do refund an order we may retain the card processing fee, because our payment processor doesn't return it to us.

Once you approve your proof, the order is locked — it can't be changed, cancelled, or refunded. That's the moment it goes to press, so take your time on that email.

If we get it wrong — the wrong product, a real printing defect, damage in transit — we'll make it right with a reprint. Tell us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and photos.

Where do you ship?

Nationwide. We route each order to the production facility that gets it to you fastest and most cost-effectively, shipped via UPS, USPS, or FedEx. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on weight, dimensions, and destination. Very large orders may require a custom freight quote — get in touch.

Do you guarantee campaign finance or disclaimer compliance?

No. You're responsible for your content and for confirming it meets applicable campaign finance and communication rules, including any required disclaimers. We don't offer compliance guarantees — but if you'd like a hand, disclaimer and compliance review can be part of our direct mail consulting services.
